LAist is an independent news organization based in Los Angeles. Founded in 2013, our nonprofit newsroom is a place where people from all backgrounds can come together to discover and discuss what matters most to their lives.
With a focus on storytelling and data-driven reporting, our newsroom is made up of people from all walks of life. From journalists to programmers, from artists to activists, we all contribute to LAist in our own way.
We deliver breaking news and in-depth articles on subjects that matter to you. We also have a dedicated section for stories and data that challenge and confuse you. And we're not afraid to speak about the issues that many people in LA struggle with.
We have an active community that is a part of the conversation and helps us produce a more diverse and inclusive newsroom.
